Amateur Tournament Information

69th Annual
July 10-13, 2025

Entry Fees and Information.

 

Entries are limited to 100 players
 

Entry Fee $325.00, includes pro-am and tournament, and cart for the pro-am only

Entry Fee $250.00, includes tournament only

Entry Fee $100.00, includes pro-am and cart for pro-am only.

Entries are taken until the field is full.
Cancellations are subject to a $25.00 cancellation fee.

Tournament Information.

 

54 holes stroke play  - July 11-13, 2025

Flighted Amateur Division.

Flights will be determined by handicap and all flighted amateurs will play from the white tee. There will be 20 players per flight based on the players handicap index. Players that do not have an established handicap will be given a handicap of 0.

Flights will be determined based on USGA handicaps as of July 4th, 2025

 

Flighted amateurs will play in the morning wave (7.00 AM to 9.00 AM) on Friday July 11th, the afternoon wave (12.00 PM to 2.00 PM) on Saturday July 12th, and the morning wave (7.00 AM to 9.00 AM) on Sunday July 13th.

If you wish to play in the flighted amateur division, please mark that choice on the entry form. Players with handicaps of four or less may play in this division.

 

Championship Amateur Division

 

This division is for players who's handicap index is 4.0 or less at the time of entry. Players must have a valid handicap based on the USGA handicap system and it must be verifiable.

 

PLAYERS MAY NOT DECLARE FOR THIS DIVISION IF THEY DO NOT MEET THE HANDICAP REQUIREMENTS.

 

This division will play from the blue tee and will compete for the Wyoming Open Championship.

 

 Players in this division are scheduled to play in the afternoon wave (12 to 2 PM) on Friday July 11th, in the morning wave (7 to 9 AM) on Saturday July 12th, and by score in either wave on Sunday July 13th. The number of players in this flight will determine changes to tee times.

Please make the choice for the championship amateur if your handicap qualifies and you wish to play in this division. Players with handicaps of four or less are not required to play in this division.

 

 

Amateur Pro-Am Information.

 

The pro-am will be held on Thursday July 10th, 2025 in two shotgun starts, 8.00 AM and 1.30 PM. Each shotgun start is a separate pro-am. Teams will consist of two professionals and four amateurs.

 

The format will be one low gross, one low net ball for the team score. Handicap information is required for each amateur team member. Any amateur without a verified handicap will play at a handicap of zero. Amateurs will receive 85% of their handicaps based on the slope rating of the white tee at the Airport Golf Club as of July 8th 2024.

 

Any cancellation of one or both pro-am's will result in the winners being determined by a blind draw.

 

If you wish to play in the pro-am, please mark your choice on the entry form. Amateurs are not required to play in the pro-am.

 

General Information.
 

Practice rounds are available on Wednesday July 9th. The golf course is open that day from 7am till 2.00 pm. After 2pm, the course is closed to all play

The Airport Golf Club does not have a driving range. Driving range facilities are available at our sister course, Kingham Prairie View located at 3601 Windmill Road.


The Wyoming State Open Tournament Committee reserves the right to take whatever action and/or modify the format of play in any way necessary to protect players, spectators, and volunteers. In these cases, no refund of any type will be made.

The Wyoming State Open, Airport Golf Club, and the City of Cheyenne, are not liable for injuries or damages caused by golfer activity or natural forces such as lightning, hail, wind, and the like. When lightning is in the area, the committee staff will make every effort to inform players,spectators, and volunteers through the use of a blow horn. However, players, spectators, and volunteers shall assume responsibility for their own safety.
